Draper Is Dead

Again, sadly not. But he has been ejected from LabourCrap or whatever that shit NuLab corporate blog is called.

Thought: if someone shows terrible judgement, a complete lack of integrity and then loses their job over it, should they ever get a second chance? Dripper caused a huge scandal for NuLab 10 years or so ago and then crawled back to prominence again. So has Mandy. Twice. Will people never learn.

Drapergate 2 or McBridegate 1?

So the delicious story of No 10's dirty tricks department is building to its crescendo. Guido has two tasters here and here, as well as being on Sky today (so much better than the debacle on The Daily Politics, Guido, good work). The Great Iain Dale, also on Sky and BBC today, has opined as well. Dizzy has uncovered the embryonic Red Flag site and Tory Bear has made us all laugh.

Like all of us I am sure, I am salivating at the wonderful Sunday reading awaiting me. The story will unfold for the next 24 hrs in all its glory. I guess McBride will be sacked. Draper already looks as if he has been edged out. Many bloggers will chitter chatter over the next few days, but what are the lessons learnt, particularly for Dave and his incoming tribe?

1. Political parties and their politicians, like all leaders, need to have integrity. And integrity is important. You cannot command respect without it. And like virginity, once lost it can never regained.

2. As a leader, claiming you did not know what your close advisers were doing or that whilst unethical 'it's OK because it's within the rules' just won't wash with the floating vote. The tribal vote will always overlook problems, but they don't win elections.

3. If a staff member has shown a complete lack of integrity, you sack them and - here's the lesson for NuLab - never employ them again as leopards tend not to change their spots. Draper is a proven lying shit and always will be. I am sure Lord Manbypanby will blow up in their faces at some stage too. (Dave - think Jeffrey Archer, think Jonathan Aitken, think David Mellor. Don't ever go there.)

4. The politicisation of the civil service needs to be reversed. Civil servants should be neutral. Political advisers are party animals. They need to be kept entirely separate.

5. The dead tree press will forever more follow the blogosphere. It's been easy for Dave in opposition. It will be harder in Government, and he needs to think now how to keep ahead of that change.

Support Iain Dale

So after yesterday's shenanigans, and Guido briefly on radio silence but now back to form, today the Great Man himself, Iain Dale, (I always genuflect when saying his name) has bravely saddled up his horse, donned his armour and gone into battle as well.

Hoooooooooooooooraaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I like men with balls. Well done Iain. Well done Guido. Support these men. Dale for PM. Dale for President. Dale for....whatever is more important than President. Guido for captain of the chess club and senior library attendant.

Everyone needs to support Iain and Guido in the fight against the pernicious, nasty, loutish, shitty behaviour that these NuLab spinning attack dog thugs go in for.

Bravo. Iain Dale, my hero. Go, go, go Guido.

Oooh, I think I need a lie down.

Guido Fails Us All

Oh dear. It was carnage. Follow the link...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/the_daily_politics/7965869.stm

Guido, what were you thinking? Actually clearly you weren't thinking. If ever there was someone who had some killer punches to land who failed spectacularly it was Guido today. That little shit Draper got away with it. Again. When will this little tosser finally be upended?

And why is Guido now backing off as per his utter capitulation on his blog tonight? Where is the McBride 'smoking gun' email? Where is the Berkeley Draper proof? Has Guido had legal eagles after him?

For the record, these are the points Guido should have made:

1. The centre right dominates the blogosphere.

2. NuLab realised they needed to attack this in advance of the next election.

3. LabList was conceived by NuLab, within NuLab HQ, was created by trusted NuLab apparatchiks and is funded by the unions (aka NuLab Central Bank). It is not an independent blog, one of Draper's endless lies.

4. In content it is an utterly uncritical cheerleader for NuLab, attacking centre right independent bloggers as part of a wider NuLab pre-election smear strategy. It is a corporate PR blog.

5. All this is demonstrated by the choice of the 'editor' of LabList. Did they choose an erudite centre left free thinker? No, they chose Draper, a discredited, proven liar, Type A NuLab 90s attack dog, who has tried to reinvent himself after some time in the wildness 'in' not 'at' Berkeley and by marrying a media luvvie Z list celeb.

Lastly, Paul, you could at least have ironed your Berkeley t-shirt. And why is Draper now so fat? And why does he always look as if he just spent the night in a dumpster?

Leopards and Spots

As I mentioned here the Type A 90s NuLab attack dogs are incapable of changing their spots, viz Mandy (who will doubtless come a cropper, we just have to wait), Dolly (need I say more) and now Charlie Whelan (see here).

They seem to have yet to work out that we 'people of the naughties' don't much like the macho, overly aggressive, bullying approach NuLab coined in the 90s. Won't play well with the voters, boys.

Hello Dolly

So, as promised yesterday, I turn my attention to Dolly Draper. Many much bigger and better bloggers than I have commented: Guido, Dizzy, Kerron Cross, and the Great Man himself here, here and here. I have several observations:

1. By establishing LabourList (aka the Labour General Election rebuttal unit - a more doomed bunch of fuckers than the Titanic's leak repair team) NuLab has just not got the point of what blogging is all about. The successful bloggers are counter cultural, risqué, etc. If Dolly goes that way, it will blow up in the face of NuLab because the media will seize on any rude, off piste, risqué comment and tut tut v publicly which won't play well with the voters. If he is dull and safe, no one will read him after the initial launch fever dies down.

2. The reason the centre-right is dominating the blogoshere is because they are not in Government and are in full-on opposition mode. It remains to be seen whether (a) the centre right blogoshere withers slightly once Dave has the keys to No 10 or (b) whether the Lefties will finally get their shit together when out in the cold post election.

3. NuLab has picked the wrong guy. Dolly is soiled goods, even despite his 40 days and 40 nights in the Berkeley wilderness and marrying a Z list celeb. He is temperamental, thin-skinned and a Type A NuLab 90s attack dog. He will never change and will blow himself up again like Mandy does regularly (and will again).

4. Fun as it has been to read all the attacks on him, like Gert Nutjob the muslim basher who has been banned from the UK by our very liberal minded Government, by writing about him we are doing his work for him and publicising the little shit's work. Although he is an ass, he is cunning enough to fabricate false attacks on centre right bloggers so we blog about him and boost his traffic. We should therefore desist.

Thus, from this point on, Dolly the lying cheating wanker will never more be mentioned on this blog. Hurrrah!
